The University of Colorado Police Department today released a composite sketch of a suspect being sought in connection with an attempted sex assault that occurred late Friday night on the bike path near Broadway and Pleasant Street on the western edge of the Boulder campus.

A female CU student on Saturday reported that she was walking home from a party on University Hill on Friday, when, at sometime between 11:15 and 11:30 p.m. an unidentified man approached her from behind and pushed her to the ground.

The man put a pair of scissors to her throat and began removing her clothes, according to the victim. She then struck him in the face and was able to flee the scene.

The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 50 years old. He is estimated to be 5-foot 6-inches tall, with a scruffy beard and crooked teeth. He was wearing dark-colored athletic shorts and a white T-shirt at the time of the attack, police say.
