Denver-based MediaNews Group Inc. said Tuesday it is launching a search for a new chief executive officer to succeed current CEO and chairman William Dean Singleton.
Upon hiring of the new chief executive, Singleton will become executive chairman of MediaNews Group, the nation's second-largest newspaper company by circulation and owner of the Boulder Camera, Colorado Daily and Broomfield Enterprise. Singleton will remain chairman and publisher of The Denver Post and the Salt Lake City Tribune.
Gordon Paris, a director of MediaNews, has been named interim president while the CEO search takes place. Joseph Lodovic IV has retired as president, effective immediately.
The search process will be directed by a special committee of the board, chaired by director Joseph Euteneuer.
MediaNews also said it will launch a search for the newly created position of chief revenue officer. Michael Sileck, a MediaNews director, will serve in that position on an interim basis.
