Friday in the Boulder area is expected to be partly sunny with highs in the mid-50s, but snow is in the forecast for the weekend.

There's a small chance of rain Saturday afternoon, followed by possible snow Saturday night, according to the National Weather Service.

On Sunday, there's a 20 percent chance of snow before noon, according to the weather service.

The service issued a "hazardous weather outlook" for areas including Boulder County and Broomfield, saying any snow accumulation will be light Saturday but that a stronger cold front is expected to reach the area by Sunday, with a "better chance of snowfall to the mountains and northeast Colorado plains."
