FreeWave Technologies, a Boulder-based Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) wireless connectivity and edge computing firm, has appointed a new chief executive officer, according to a company news release.

New CEO Kirk Byles, who succeeds Kim Niederman, previously served as FreeWave's vice president of worldwide sales, the release said.

"FreeWave is well positioned to take advantage of the rapidly growing IIoT market," Byles said in a statement. "We have a solid foundation with our new programmable Zumlink radio platform and recently introduced new products that address our customers' needs in edge computing."
