A 36-year-old woman accused of fatally stabbing her husband to death in their Boulder home in August appeared briefly in court this morning.

Traci Housman was scheduled to enter a plea to the second-degree murder charges she faces. Instead, because attorneys requested more time, a judge rescheduled Housman's hearing for Jan. 8.

Housman remains in the Boulder County Jail on $250,000 bond. If she's convicted of the “heat of passion” murder charge, Housman could spend 10 to 32 years in prison.

She's accused of stabbing her husband, John Housman, once in the chest with a kitchen knife during an altercation in their 2994 23rd St. home early Aug. 2. Housman told police she was acting in self-defense because her husband was threatening her.
