Fans are encouraged to wear black to the game which begins at 5 p.m.
It is only the second time in history Colorado has played host to a member of the powerful Southeastern Conference. The game will also feature the two best college mascots in the same stadium. Ralphie the Buffalo will welcome Uga the bulldog to Boulder.
Colorado is 1-1 in its previous blackout games, losing to Florida State in 2007 and beating West Virginia in overtime in 2008. The program did not have a blackout game last season because it generally tries to schedule blackouts for night games. CU opened last season with a 5 p.m. game against CSU, but the remainder of the Buffs` home games were afternoon starts in 2009.
The Buffs are 2-1 coming off a home win against Hawaii on Saturday. They have a bye this week, giving them two weeks to prepare for the Bulldogs.
Georgia is 1-2 and plays at Mississippi State this week. The Bulldogs will be playing their third road game in four weeks when they visit Boulder next week.
