The University of Colorado closed the Boulder campus Friday after a snowstorm brought over a foot of snow that began Thursday night.
Malinda Miller-Huey, spokeswoman for CU, said the most recent closure was on Dec. 22 during winter break when there were no classes to cancel. She said the campus closed early in October, 2009 and was closed for a full day in March of 2009 during spring break.
Miller-Huey said it's a "coincidence" that the last few complete closures have been during a break from classes. She said because of the closure she could not confirm the last day that classes were cancelled for a full day due to weather.
"Closures disrupt a lot so they don't make the decision lightly," Miller-Huey said.
