The Boulder County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 58-year-old man found in an open space area near the 5000 block of Nelson Road north of Boulder Saturday, the fourth unattended death in Boulder County since April 27.
Sheriff's deputies responded to the open space area, near the intersection of Nelson Road and North 51st Street in Longmont, at approximately 11:40 a.m. Saturday after receiving reports of an unresponsive male party found on the property. Boulder County Parks and Open Space Rangers called for assistance from the Sheriff's Office when they noticed a car parked near the open space's entry gate and later located the body about a quarter mile away.
The Sheriff's Office and Boulder County Coroner's Office are investigating the incident. There are no indications of foul play and the death is not considered suspicious, according to a news release.
The body was the fourth found on public land in Boulder County since April 27. Thomas Meyer, a 48-year-old transient was found in Boulder Creek early in the morning of April 27 and 38-year-old Quake Jason Cox was found later that evening on Viewpoint Trail near Eben G. Fine Park. A third body, identified as 47-year-old Boulder resident James H. Horne, was found in Sunshine Canyon on April 28. None of those deaths are considered suspicious.
