A Longmont couple suspected of operating a prostitution ring out of massage parlors was arrested by Fort Collins police Monday.
Fu Zhen Huang, 52, and Song Qing Yu, 51, bonded out of Larimer County Jail after their arrest. The arrests came about two months after search warrants were served at parlors in Longmont and Fort Collins.
The specific charges, according to the jail's booking reports, were keeping a place of prostitution, pandering and pimping.
Cmdr. Jeff Satur of the Longmont Police Department, which assisted Fort Collins police, said that sort of delay between search warrant and arrest isn't unusual in a case like this.
"They had quite an extensive investigation that they had to coordinate," Satur said. "It was a very complicated and long-running investigation."
On April 11, police served warrants in Longmont at Therapeutic Massage, 1132 Main St. and in Fort Collins at SH Massage, 4031 S. College Ave. and FCT Massage, 111 W. Prospect Road. No arrests were made at the time.
Longmont's Special Enforcement Unit helped Fort Collins police, as did the Gang and Crime Suppression Unit.
Satur praised the work Fort Collins had done in a difficult case, coordinating not just with Longmont but with federal agents as well.
"They really pulled in a lot of different resources and did a tremendous job," Satur said. "We had a small part and were more than happy to help, but they deserve all the credit."
