The University of Colorado-Boulder swimming and diving team won its third consecutive national title this weekend in Atlanta.

The team won its seventh overall title at the 2013 East Coast Collegiate Swim and Dive Club National Championships, hosted by Georgia Tech.

The Buffs won both the men's and women's team titles, topping Florida in both categories. More than 1,100 swimmers and divers from 59 teams competed at the championships.

Last year, the Buffs fell short of the men's team title, said men's captain Eric Finger.

"It's pretty awesome to finally get the men's win," Finger said. "It really took the whole team. We needed the depth to get all the points possible.

Women's team captain Ellesse Spaeth, who finished 5th in the women's individual championship, said the meet was a good chance for the team to bond. Four of the top five individual females were Colorado swimmers.

"This year, we had a lot of depth in our team, so everybody was really able to add to the team points and tae home the win as an entire team, rather than individuals," Spaeth said. "We had to work together to win."
