Boulder police responded to an accident at the intersection of Broadway and Baseline Road after noon Friday involving a Boulder fire truck and an SUV.
The fire truck had its lights and sirens on and was heading to a medical call as it neared the intersection, said Boulder police spokeswoman Sarah Huntley. An SUV failed to stop at the intersection and collided with the truck, Huntley said.
The woman who was driving the SUV had a green light, Huntley said, but all other vehicles at the intersection had stopped and she did not.
She was taken to Boulder Community Hospital with back pain, but Huntley said her injuries are not expected to be serious. No firefighters were hurt in the accident. The fire crew didn't make it to the medical call, but other responders arrived to help.
Huntley said she expects the woman will be ticketed for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
Traffic was snarled for a period of time, but the intersection was fully reopened about 1:30 p.m., Huntley said.
