The University of Colorado-Boulder snowboard team will host its fourth halftime rail jam at the CU vs. Utah game today.

Between 10 and 15 riders will attempt to complete the best trick on a down-flat rail, and the team's coach Patrick Abramson will choose a winner. Most of the riders will be CU students, but a few local pro boarders, like Corbin Clement and Seth Hill, plan to make an appearance, said team vice president Luke Schultz.

The last time the team performed at football halftime was in 2008. Since then, Schultz said the group has tried to bring back the event in recent years, but logistics make it difficult.

Like snow, for instance. Schultz says the team will cart in snow from the mountains, or use ice shavings from the CU hockey rink.

"It's one of the things that makes our school so unique," Schultz, 22, said. "We can get snowboarding going during a halftime show. We offer a different type of environment than you'd see at another college campus. It's cool for our riders to get a college degree and at the same time go snowboarding three to four days a week."

The snowboarding team has around 50 members so far this semester, and is still looking for new riders.
