The University of Colorado announced Wednesday that four finalists have been chosen for the position of dean in the College of Music. 

The finalists include Wayne Bailey, professor of conducting and instrumental ensembles at Arizona State University, David Myers, director of the School of Music at the University of Minnesota, Jamal Rossi, associate dean for the University of Rochester's School of Music and John Schaffer, director of the University of Wisconsin-Madison's School of Music. 

Each candidate will participate in a public session, allowing students, faculty and staff to meet the finalists and ask questions in the Imig Music Building. The sessions will be held at 5 p.m. on Feb. 28 in Grusin Music Hall with Bailey, March 7 in room E160 for Myers, March 14 in room E160 with Schaffer and March 21 in Grusin Music Hall with Rossi. 

Dan Sher will resign from his position in June after 20 years as the College of Music's dean to return to teaching.
