Two Denver high schools were locked down Tuesday morning for about an hour as a precaution as police responded to a report of a student bringing a gun to school.
The incident happened about 10 a.m. at the Denver Center for 21st-Century Learning at Wyman High School, 1690 Williams St., according to a Denver Public Schools spokeswoman.
Nearby Denver East High School, 1600 City Park Esplanade, was also locked down as a precaution.
Denver police responded to the incident and a student was taken into custody off campus without incident, the school district said.
A weapon was seized. No shots were fired and no one was injured.
Both schools were released from lockdown at about 11 a.m.
