A pilot managed to walk away uninjured after flipping his single-engine airplane at Broomfield's Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport earlier today.

The crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. today at the airport, 11755 Airport Way. A single-engine plane overshot the runway and its landing gear caught in the dirt, causing the plane to flip over, said Sara Farris, a spokeswoman for North Metro Fire.

The pilot was able to get out of the plane on his own and was not injured, and no fires were reported as a result of the crash.
