A mistrial has been declared for a Boulder man who fled during his sexual assault trial after the jury was unable to reach a verdict on Friday.

Michael Henry Riley, 66, was arrested over the weekend in Summit County on suspicion of failure to comply with bond conditions after he failed to check in with pretrial supervision on Friday morning during his trial on a charge of sexual assault on a child.

At the time he allegedly fled, a jury was deliberating the case after the five-day trial. Court officials said the jury came back hung on Friday and a mistrial was declared.

Boulder prosecutors can choose to retry Riley on the sexual assault charge.

Riley is currently in custody in Summit County and will be transferred to the Boulder County Jail. No details were released on Riley's arrest in Summit County.
