Gov. John Hickenlooper is scheduled to speak about natural gas development in Colorado on Thursday at the University of Coloradoas part of a lecture series on hydraulic fracturing.

The Center of the American West, CU Continuing Education, Boulder County and the AirWaterGas Research Network are sponsoring the lecture series, titled “FrackingSENSE.”

The series brings in speakers with “substantial expertise on natural gas development” who will “provide a measured, honest exploration of this controversial topic,” according to organizers.

CU historian Patty Limerick will act as moderator.

Hickenlooper's presentation is set for 6:30 p.m. in Mathematics Room 100 on the CU campus.
