The top 5
No. 0 -- G Askia Booker, Jr., 6-foot-2, 170 pounds
Started all 33 games last season, averaging 12.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists. Struggled with his shooting last season and will need to improve that.
No. 1 -- F Wesley Gordon, Fr., 6-9, 225
A redshirt last season, Gordon has exceptional athleticism. He could block a lot of shots, grab a lot of rebounds and contribute valuable points in the paint.
No. 2 -- F Xavier Johnson, So., 6-7, 220
An athletic player who got better as the season went along last year, averaging 8.9 points and 4.8 rebounds. He can score in a lot of ways.
No. 25 -- PG Spencer Dinwiddie, Jr., 6-6, 200
A started in all 69 of CU's games the last two years, Dinwiddie is one of the nation's best guards. He averaged 15.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists last year.
No. 40 -- F Josh Scott, So., 6-10, 245
He had a very good freshman year, with 10.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. He wore down in the second half, though, so he put on 20 pounds of muscle in the offseason.
No. 3 -- G Xavier Talton, So., 6-2, 180
Played limited minutes a year ago and averaged 1.5 points. He's had a good offseason, though, and could be big offensive spark off the bench.
No. 10 -- G/F Tre'Shaun Fletcher, Fr., 6-7, 200
One of many athletic young players, Fletcher will help the Buffs in a lot of ways once he finds his comfort zone.
No. 13 -- F Dustin Thomas, Fr., 6-7, 220
Perhaps CU's most polished true freshman coming in, Thomas could be in the starting lineup in place of Gordon when the Buffs face smaller lineups.
No. 23 -- G Jaron Hopkins, Fr., 6-5, 190
An exceptional athlete with a lot of potential. He is ready to play key minutes now, and he will only get better.
No. 24 -- G/F George King, Fr., 6-5, 208
A late bloomer and probably the most raw of CU's freshmen, King can still play a key role because is capable of helping out on offense and defense.
No. 32 -- C Ben Mills, Sr., 7-0, 230
A fan favorite, he has played just 136 minutes during his career. He looks as good as ever, though, and will likely see a lot more time on the court as he relieves Scott.
Others to watch
No. 5 -- G Eli Stalzer So., 6-3, 180
After seeing limited action in 25 games last year, Stalzer provides some key experience off the bench. When needed, he can hit some shots for the Buffs.
No. 12 -- G Kevin Nelson, Sr., 6-2, 185
A walk-on in his first healthy season at CU, Nelson has been a high energy player who has helped the Buffs a lot in practice.
No. 14 -- G Beau Gamble, Sr., 6-0, 180
He played just 12 minutes a year ago. With so much talent at guard, he won't find many minutes this year, either, but is another key player in practice.
No. 15 -- G Brett Brady, So., 6-1, 160
A first-year walk-on, Brady has given the Buffs a lot of good looks as a 3-point shooter in practice.
No. 35 -- G Geoffrey Bates, Sr., 6-2, 200
Bates will not play this season after having hip surgery.
