The Colorado Buffaloes are bringing 2014 defensive back Jaisen Sanchez to the mainland.
Honolulu Star-Advertiser sports writer Dave Reardon reported earlier today that Saint Louis High School coach Matt Wright said Sanchez had committed to the Buffs. The Rivals and Scout recruiting networks confirmed the commitment. If Saint Louis High sounds familiar, it's because the school produced Oregon star quarterback Marcus Mariota.
Sanchez is a bit of an under-the-radar prospect playing his prep ball in Honolulu. He's listed at 6-foot-1, 190 pounds on his Hudl page, which is available here. Also listed on his Hudl page are a 4.59 40-yard dash time and 11.42 seconds on the track in the 100-meter.
"I couldn't picture myself playing anywhere else," Sanchez told Buffplaybook.com in a free article. "I really like what Coach Mike MacIntyre and his staff are doing at Colorado."
Sanchez is ranked as a two-star recruit by both major recruiting services. Rivals lists Portland State, Southern Utah and Weber State as offers for Sanchez, with Arizona State reportedly interested. Colorado cornerbacks coach Andy LaRussa is listed as the lead recruiter for Sanchez.
Sancehz becomes the 15th commitment for the Buffs for their 2014 recruiting class and the third defensive back. He joins Cherokee Trail's Evan White and Hendrickson (Pflugerville, Texas) recruit Chance Waz as potential future Buffs in the secondary. Waz is still technically committed to Colorado despite a visit to Nebraska over the weekend.
