A water main break left a two-block stretch of Gunbarrel's Heatherwood neighborhood without water for several hours Wednesday evening.
Robert Reese of the Boulder Public Works Department said the break was likely caused by corrosion in the copper line that runs between the main city line and one of the homes in the neighborhood. The amount of water lost is unknown.
Water was shut off just after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday between Ashfield Drive and Chatham Place. City spokesman Mike Banuelos said crews replaced a four-foot section of the pipe and turned the water back on at 4:30 a.m. Thursday. The road is open and will be re-patched on Friday.
