Academy Award winning actress Shirley MacLaine will be the guest of honor on Feb. 15 when the Boulder International Film Festival welcomes her as part of the cinema-loving event's 10th year in the city.

MacLaine, who in 1984 won the best actress Oscar for her role in "Terms of Endearment," will take part in "A Tribute to Shirley MacLaine" at the Boulder Theater as part of this year's BIFF programming, according to a news release issued by festival staff.

The event will include a retrospective of MacLaine's nearly 50-film career, a one-on-one interview with MacLaine and BIFF special event producer Ron Bostwick and the presentation of a "Career Achievement Award" to the actress. It will get underway at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 15 at the theater, 2032 14th St., when MacLaine walks the red carpet.

"We are thrilled to be honoring Ms. MacLaine with our "Career Achievement Award" at the festival this year," Kathy Beeck, festival director and co-founder, said in a statement. "She is by far one of the most celebrated and multi-talented actors in Hollywood history and we can't think of anyone more deserving of this award."

Tickets for the tribute event are on sale for $30 and can be purchased, along with tickets to various other BIFF events, at .

In addition to her Oscar win, MacLaine has won six Golden Globes and in 2012 was given the American Film Institute's Lifetime Achievement Award. Notable films in her long catalog include "Steel Magnolias," "Postcards From the Edge" and "In Her Shoes."

The Boulder International Film Festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year with a 58-film program on top of numerous workshops and other events spanning from Thursday to Feb. 16. Special guests welcomed by BIFF in the past include Martin Sheen, James Franco and Peter Fonda last year.
