As the University of Colorado College of Music approaches its centennial, the school has introduced a fundraising campaign that would support cross-campus partnerships, an expansion of alumni resources and services and more professional performances, according to a press release.
The campaign, called music+ seeks to raise $50 million for the college by the school's centennial in 2020. At its public launch, the campaign is already almost half way toward its goal.
Funds raised in the campaign will be used to "add amazing new layers of professional experiences, interdisciplinary partnerships and leadership opportunities," like the college's recent Carnegie Hall Showcase Concert, and the addition of the Music, Technology & Media major available at CU in fall of 2017, according to College of Music Dean Robert Shay.
The music+ campaign is part of a strategic plan to strengthen the college as a leading institution of music nationally.
