Soul Rebel Festival
The 17th Annual Soul Rebel Festival celebrates grassroots reggae, Afro-pop, world and American roots music while highlighting the Afro-centric heritage through arts, dance, literary works and music. Proceeds from the festival will benefit MESA (Moving to End Sexual Assault) while honoring the late-legendary Reggae musician Fazal Prendergast. Bernstein as Teacher: Exploring the Language of Music — CU Boulder music faculty will show and discuss Leonard Bernstein's 1973 videotaped lectures, "The Unanswered Question." In particular, the lecture will focus on the relationships Bernstein saw between music and language. Free. Andrea Gibson— One of the most celebrated and successful poets in the field began their career in 1999 with a break-up poem at an open mic in Boulder. 2018 Big Gay 5K Boulder — The Big Gay 5K in Boulder has gone through a makoever and will feature a new start/finish line, new course on the streets and new distance options. This year's race will begin at the intersection of Pearl and 10th streets and new this year, participants can run in the street for the first time in its history. The top 3 finishers in each of the following categories will be recognized in our awards ceremony at Pridefest: male, female and non-binary as well as a costume contest.
