T he University of Colorado's Fashion Design Student Association is seeking models of all shapes and sizes for their spring fashion show.
The group is holding auditions on Thursday at 6 p.m. in Hellems room 267.
Karyssa Cox, the club's president, said they hope to include most of the models that audition in the spring show.
"One of our big goals is to promote a different image of beauty and create a positive body image and confidence by getting out of that six-foot-tall, skinny image that fashion in general promotes," Cox said. "We want to promote a positive, open, environment where everyone can be model if they want to."
CU junior and designer Miranda Sheh said most of the members are seeking fun, energetic models to contribute to the overall teamwork of the show.
Once chosen, all of the models will go through training to learn how to walk before the spring show.
"Don't be scared, come try out and have some fun," Sheh said. "A lot of the models don't have experience when the try out, but we're able to teach everyone through the training."
The spring show's theme is nature, which will be interpreted differently by the 10 to 15 designers expected to show collections.
The show will be held on the evening of April 26, Cox said.
