The University of Wyoming has hired Colorado associate athletic director for compliance Julie Manning as senior associate athletic director and senior women's administrator.

Manning had overseen all NCAA compliance issues at CU since she was hired in 2005 after a 20-year run as women's golf coach at Iowa State. Her next career move will likely be to athletic director.

She is the first member of the senior leadership team in the athletic department to leave since CU changed athletic directors last summer.

CU has not named a replacement for Manning and its online athletic department directory still listed Manning as compliance director Friday. Manning's three deputies in compliance, Jo Marchi, Jill Keegan and Kevin Prochaska are likely handling CU's compliance issues until a replacement for Manning is hired. Athletic director Rick George was not available for comment.

Manning also served as CU's Title IX coordinator and chair of the gender equity committee while overseeing several men's and women's sports.

"I very much appreciate the opportunity to join the marvelous coaches, administrators and staff at the University of Wyoming," Manning said in a press release issued by Wyoming. "I want to thank Tom Burman and the chair of the search committee, Deputy Athletics Director Matt Whisenant, for believing in me. The moment I arrived on campus, I knew I wanted to be part of this staff and continue the work already in place to achieve something very special here in Laramie."
