Boulder police are seeking the suspect in a sexual assault that occurred early this morning in the area of East Euclid Avenue and 30th Street.

The alleged victim, a 20-year-old female, was walking alone when an unknown male pushed her to the ground from behind and sexually assaulted her, according to a police news release.

The resident of a nearby home heard the victim scream for help and called police, the release says, but the suspect fled the area on foot before police arrived. He was last seen running down East Euclid toward 30th.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where she was examined for signs of sexual assault, police say. She suffered minor physical injuries in the incident but did not need to be treated.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a medium build and short, dark, "spiked" hair. He reportedly had long sideburns and a mustache and was wearing wire-rim glasses, a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with white lettering and a dark-colored backpack.
