Participants in Boulder's Winter Bike to Work Day will be rolling through town Wednesday morning as the city celebrates its sixth year of the eco-friendly commuter event.

Last January, 1,600 people registered to take part in the event and pedal to work or school, vastly exceeding the previous record of 1,000.

There is still time for riders to register this year, helping organizers track participation and calculate prevented motor vehicle emissions.

To register, visit the city's website. Prizes include lift tickets to Eldora Mountain Resort, bike lights and more.

There will be 10 free breakfast stations set up between 7 and 9 a.m. at various locations around the city for participants, including at Alfalfa's Market, 1651 Broadway, and Moe's Broadway Bagel, 3267 28th St. A map of all of the stations is available on the city's website.
