Things are heating up for Colorado football's recruiting staff with less than two days to National Signing Day.

Following an official visit to Austin this past weekend, Cypress Creek (Houston, Texas) offensive lineman Elijah Rodriguez switched his verbal commitment from Colorado to Texas, multiple recruiting networks report.

The 6-foot-6, 280-pound Rodriguez originally committed to the Buffs in August and took an official visit to Boulder in early December.

Rodriguez picked up recruiting steam following his senior season with reported interest from LSU and Florida State. Orangebloods.com reports Rodriguez enjoyed his official to Austin and his grandfather played for the Longhorns.

"My whole family went to Texas," Rodriguez told Horns247.com (link). "Getting the chance to continue that tradition is something very special."

6-5, 265-pound Mission Viejo, Calif., lineman Josh Kaiser and 6-7, 250-pound Longmont product Isaac Miller are expected to sign with CU on Wednesday. Long-snapping specialist Wyatt Tucker Smith signed with the Buffs in January and is on campus taking classes.
