Erie police are investigating a "potential threat" made against Erie High School by minors two weeks ago.

According to a news release, St. Vrain Valley School District officials contacted police Feb. 28 to notify them of the threat made against Erie High School. The release said the threat was made by minors, but did not disclose whether the minors were students at the school or what the threat was.

Police have been working with the school district as well as Weld County district attorney and Erie prosecutors on the investigation. No charges have been filed yet as a result of the investigation.

"We take all threats seriously and investigate them in a timely, diligent manner," Erie police Chief Marc Vasquez said in a statement. "Any time a concern arises involving schools or children, we make them a top priority."

Anyone with questions or information about the investigation can call Erie police at 303-926-2800 or Boulder County Dispatch at 303-441-4444.
