I have noticed that global warming has been appearing more frequently in newspapers across the country. Some articles give readers information about what causes global warming and others do not.
Last Friday, the Environmental Studies Student Group asked fellow University of Colorado Buffs to call their senators and demand stronger, national climate legislation.
Many students were interested in learning about what climate change may mean to their future and were excited to call their legislators, asking them for clean climate and energy bills. This inspires hope that there is student support for an environmental cause.
As a volunteer, I was shocked to learn how much of the student body was unaware of the possible consequences of climate change. I believe that it is our right to know the truth behind this global issue facing our world today.
A new documentary film called "The Age of Stupid" allows audience members a glance at the effects of climate change currently on our planet and what the results of apathy may be for humanity.
If you are interested in becoming more educated on the issue of global warming, this is your chance. A coalition of environmentally concerned groups are co-sponsoring a showing of "The Age of Stupid," hoping to inspire a new wave of public support of cleaner climate legislation.
Come out to see a free showing of the film at 3 p.m. Sunday in CU's Mathematics building, Room 100. The public is encouraged to bring friends and family; the more people that see this film the better.
Thank you for your time. Hope to see you there!
