Currently numerous students are participating in Greek life at the University Of Colorado at Boulder.
From my observations, women demean themselves at fraternity parties by letting men objectify them in order to be accepted. I believe that young women at this university should take a better approach to receiving attention other than dressing suggestively and acting brainless.
On a recent weekend, I witnessed a young woman being physically pushed around beyond proper measure, and being verbally assaulted due to the way she acted and dressed. After the situation, three fraternity brothers kicked her out of the house and left her to walk to the residence halls by herself. Her friends remained at the party.
At CU-Boulder there are numerous other ways to receive attention and not have to degrade one's character and intelligence. The university offers 100-plus clubs/organizations and 30-plus club sport teams that would provide opportunities to create strong relationships and meet new people.
Hopefully both male and female students can begin to take notice of these alternative means of creating social gatherings.
