The recent attacks on Boulder Valley Women's Health Center is not only deeply unfortunate, but a misrepresentation of the value Boulder Valley Women's Health Center provides to our community.

I volunteered at BVWHC all through college and I cannot tell you the profound impact that the clinic has on women of all ages across the state. While BVWHC serves as primarily a women's health clinic, many of the patients seek primary care services, trusted medical advice, and most importantly, comfort during times of great personal peril.

Without Boulder Valley Women's Health Center I would not be where I am today. They provided me the opportunity to work in a clinical setting, which has since translated into my passion for health policy, the completion of a masters in public health and a career advocating for health justice.

Cutting funding would not only have a negative impact on the health of many women, but would be a lost opportunity for others, such as myself, whose career paths were catalyzed by our own experiences working at such a great facility.
