Looking for something to buy the beer lover in your life? Here are a few ideas to help make shopping easier:
A growler -- especially one already filled with beer -- makes a great gift for the host of your next holiday party, or just for you. Glass is fine, but invest in a stainless-steel growler for a more durable, sleek touch that promises to keep your beer colder and fresher longer.
Locally, Oskar Blues, the Mountain Sun pubs and Upslope all sell nice stainless-steel versions.
There are also several high-end growlers on the market, many of which can be customized with various finishes, graphics or logos. Drink Tanks, based in Bend, Ore., is a new company that makes a double-walled, vacuum-insulated steel growler that, along with the optional Keg Cap, will keep the beer inside pressurized, effectively turning your growler into a personal keg ($69 for growler, $45 for Keg Cap option; drinktanks.com). The Brauler Modular Growler System comes with an insulated sleeve to keep the beer cooler for longer and can also be fitted with an optional FreshCap Kit to keep the beer inside pressurized ($60 for growler; thezythosproject.com).
It's a special joy for a beer lover to bring back a few bottles of a favorite local brew when traveling, especially if you can get your hands on some hard-to-find beers such as a Dark Lord Imperial Stout from Indiana's Three Floyds Brewing Co. or a can of Heady Topper from The Alchemist in Vermont. Protect your investment -- and your luggage -- with VinniBag. This well-designed, reusable bag can easily fit at least two bombers, then inflates and seals tight to keep the bottles isolated and immobilized during travel ($28 or $25 each for two or more; vinnibag.com).
If you're looking for more of a homemade touch closer to home, stop by Avery Brewing Co., 5763 Arapahoe Ave.
Become a Supporter of Colorado Indigenous Ale & Lager (SOCIAL) and help support the Colorado Brewers Guild's mission of promoting and advocating for Colorado's craft-beer industry. The $25 annual membership includes a SOCIAL T-shirt, discounts at participating member breweries, invitations to special events and more (coloradobeer.org/social).
And, if you're feeling really generous, you could always spring for Kegerator Pro 60 from Dream Arcades. This "Ultimate In-Home Arcade Machine" comes fully loaded with a 60-inch display screen, more than 140 classic arcade games and a built-in kegerator with three taps and two cup dispensers. Oskar Blues' CANiversary party

Special beers will be tapped throughout the evening, including Southern Hemisphere ESB, The White Buffalo IPA, a 2009-vintage keg of Ten FIDY and, at 8 p.m., a 2013 version of ODB Barleywine, which hasn't been offered since 2009. (oskarblues.com)
