Foothills United Way's Volunteer Connection connects people and strengthens communities through volunteer engagement. Below are opportunities available in our communities. Search our site for others at volunteer.unitedwayfoothills.org. Call 303-895-3416 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for help, or to schedule an appointment with a volunteer advisor.
Boulder County Area Agency on Aging: Seeking new, long-term care ombudsman volunteers to visit a nursing home or assisted living in their area and advocate for the residents. Long-term care ombudsmen work with residents and staff of long-term care facilities, assist with receiving, investigating and resolving complaints in these facilities, as well as advocating for the rights of the residents. Volunteers also provide information about the ombudsman program to residents, staff, family members and the community-at-large. Visit bouldercounty.org/volunteer/ for more information and to apply. Contact Kari Middleton for more information:
Teach English to adults: Intercambio offers over 250 English classes for adults throughout Boulder County, but there is still a waiting list. Many will remain on the list until we recruit more volunteer teachers. You do not need to speak Spanish or have teaching experience. We provide training and tools for you to be great teachers and to create new life-changing connections across cultures. To learn more, attend a one-hour info session, which doesn't commit you to anything. Help make our community more welcoming and sign up at intercambio.org/volunteer, or call Raquel at 720-758-9211.
Mentors Needed: "I Have a Dream" Foundation of Boulder County is seeking adult volunteer mentors to provide Dreamer Scholars with long-term, reliable and supportive relationships, to offer one-on-one guidance and support, and to serve as positive role models. Mentors see their Dreamer Scholar at least twice per month for a minimum one-year commitment, participating in fun activities. This is one volunteer opportunity that is not academically focused. Every volunteer should establish a safe, meaningful, and trusting relationship with the Dreamer Scholar. Request more information by emailing email@example.com
