It's a jungle out there in the music business, but Cage the Elephant is creating a massive buzz in the United States and Europe.

Fans can't get enough of this alternative band's spin on funk and rock grooves, and now the group's ready to invade Denver.

On Thursday night, Cage the Elephant will show off its grooving sounds and high-energy stage show at Denver's Bluebird Theater. Get ready for this band to rock your world.

Cage the Elephant stole the show at Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza, and fans can't get the band's pulsating hit, "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked" out of their heads.

"We're from Bowling Green, Kentucky, just 45 minutes outside of Nashville," lead guitarist Lincoln Parish said. "It's a small town, so everybody knows each other.

"It wasn't until we moved to England, that we were really exposed to a lot of music that influenced us. That's where we heard songs by the Pixies, Nirvana, Mudhoney and Pavement. We draw a lot from that era."

Cage the Elephant's debut record was first released in England, but Parish says it was the right move for the young American band.

"We got offered complete creative control, so we decided to go with a small indie label in England," Parish said. "We packed up to go over there and we started a grassroots fan base by touring. It was a good change for us."

Cage the Elephant's debut record came out earlier this year. The release earned the band rave reviews and featured the hit, "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked."

The tune became a free single of the week on iTunes, and this summer's festival circuit cemented the band's reputation for creating solid songs and a high-octane live show.

"I think there's a buzz about the band, because people can relate our songs," Parish said. "Our music's raw, unplanned and passionate. We're now getting ready to make a new CD in 2010."

Everclear

Everclear used to rule the radio waves and record charts with its edgy brand of alternative rock.

The band's now back with a new lineup and the new CD, In a Different Light. On Monday, fans can check out Everclear's rocking show at the Bluebird.

"This new line-up is really excellent," band leader Art Alexakis said. "It's always exciting to play with musicians that can challenge me and put their own stamp on my songs.

"The new CD is definitely an evolution for Everclear. It largely features acoustic guitars, but it's still rocking. The music really fills out with our live show -- it's real rock and roll, we play hard and we have fun."
