Greetings music lovers! It's been a pretty news heavy week for music, what with music festival lineups finally starting to trickle out and more and more concerts coming to the Centennial State -- as well as the possibility that My Bloody Valentine's new album may be coming out within the next week (!?). There's plenty to gawk over so far for music lovers in 2013, and it doesn't seem like it'll be slowing down anytime soon, so without further ado, stay tuned for these albums coming up on Radio 1190.
Buke and Gase have been slowly developing their unique sound over the years, but General Dome may be their big coming out party. Using their homemade instruments to churn out Dirty Projectors-esqe pop anthems, General Dome brings the duo's fuzzy stomp-alongs to an awesome new level.
Real Estate side project Ducktails have returned with a synthier sound on The Flower Lane, out on Domino. Matt Mondanile pulled an absurd collection of guests to feature on his new record, from Oneohtrix Point Never to Madellin Follin from Cults, and the result is a much more full sounding release from a band that delights in the sounds of springtime.
Fidlar's eponymous debut manages to approximate the tried and true gang-of-four approach to an awesomely loose sound. The shouty vocals and the nonstop chord pummeling are impossible not to get down to, and with lyrics this silly, Fidlar's approach to punk is refreshingly laissez-faire. Other additions include:
* Ex Tropical, Lost Animal.
* One Track Mind, Psychic Ills.
* Christopher, Ruby Suns.
* Hang Time, Hang Time.
