Hot off impressing the crowd at Reverb's South by Southwest showcase -- a sort of introduction for some Coloradans -- Kishi Bashi has announced a show in Denver.

The charismatic violist, singer and composer will release a new record, Lighght, on May 13, so he'll be out supporting that when he comes to the Gothic Theatre on May 24.

According to a press release, Lighght shows Kishi Bashi working with more instruments and styles: "Bright and soaring avant-pop songs are prevalent, as are Eastern-tinged arrangements, gentle ballads, Philip Glass-inspired improvisations, and more than a few moments that flirt with ‘70s prog (in the tradition of ELO or Yes). If this sounds jarringly kaleidoscopic, that's because it is."

Tickets go on sale for $15 on Saturday at 10 a.m.
