College-aged Coloradans who wonder why they should care about the U.S. Congress might want to think again – if only because Congress has a unique role in debating and approving federal funding for higher education.
The Daily asked the three Democratic candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives in Colorado's 2nd Congressional District to offer their thoughts about the federal role in higher education. Democrats Jared Polis, Joan Fitz-Gerald and Will Shafroth are running for the party’s nomination in the Aug. 12 primary – and early voting in this race has already commenced.
The winner of the primary will face Scott Starin of the Republican Party and Bill Hammons of the Unity Party of America in the Nov. 4 general election.
