It’s almost the end of this campaign trail for three U.S. House of Representatives primary election candidates — but there’s another trail waiting for one of the three.
Democrats Joan Fitz-Gerald, Jared Polis and Will Shafroth have been duking it out for the party’s House nomination in Colorado’s 2nd Congressional District. The hotly-contested campaign has been multi-million-dollar costly and at times controversial, as campaigns fired barbs at other campaigns over finance, donations, past actions, associations and other issues.
Election Day is this Tuesday, and all ballots must be cast and delivered to the proper locations by 7 p.m. Some voters chose to receive a ballot in the mail, and those who still haven’t returned their voted ballots should hand-deliver the ballots instead of mailing them back.
Boulder voters may hand-deliver ballots to the Boulder County Clerk and Recorder’s office, 1750 33rd Street, on Monday from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and Tuesday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., or to the Boulder County Courthouse, 1325 Pearl Street, on Tuesday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Many others will vote in an Election Day precinct polling place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. For more information about voting, including how to find the proper polling place, visit www.VoteBoulder.org or call (303) 413-7740.
Those who haven’t voted still have time to do a little research on the candidates, including through Web sites for Shafroth at www.shafrothforcongress.com, Polis at www.polisforcongress.com, and Fitz-Gerald at www.joanfitz-gerald.com.
Tuesday's winner will face Republican Scott Starin, www.starinforcongress.com, and Bill Hammons of the Unity Party of America, www.bill-for-congress.us, in the Nov. 4 general election.
Also, the Daily has been running weekly pieces with candidate responses to topical questions. For past responses, go here.
For our last installment, we simply asked the candidates to sum up why they think our readers should vote for them.
