In one of many events surrounding the upcoming Democratic National Convention, Rage Against the Machine will headline the Tent State Music Festival to End the War on Aug. 27 at the Denver Coliseum.
The Flobots, the Coup, State Radio, and Wayne Kramer are also on the bill. The concert begins at 11 a.m.
Tickets are free and available by lottery (two tickets per winner). Fans can sign up for the lottery at Tent State University at Denver's City of Cuernavaca Park, near Coors Field, between 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Aug. 24-26.
Winners will be notified by e-mail on the evening of Aug. 26.
The concert is hosted by Iraq Veterans Against the War and Tent State University, a temporary community that will be erected in City of Cuernavaca Park during the DNC.
According to its Web site, “Tent State will serve as an alternative university, teaching the tactics and strategies necessary to force an end to this war, hosting guest “professors” such as Ralph Nader and Cynthia McKinney.”
Visit tentstate.org for more information, and watch for a full list of DNC concerts, parties, film screenings, exhibitions and more in the Aug. 22 issue of Friday Magazine.
