The free events are aimed at helping students get acquainted with the campus before classes begin Aug. 25.
Freshmen will begin moving into the dorms on Tuesday.
New students will gather for a mandatory convocation at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 22 at Folsom Field. The official gathering welcomes students to the university and will feature remarks by Chancellor Bud Peterson, and other top CU officials.
Immediately following the convocation, the CU Marching Band will lead participants to Farrand Field, where "Global Jam" will offer new CU students with residence hall meal plans an international feast including musical entertainment from noon to 2 p.m.
The menu includes barbecue pork bao with plum sauce, tofu polenta bruschetta, Kiwi lamb burger, vegetable curry pie, Bavarian cream puffs and chef-carved roasted pineapple.
Any member of the CU-Boulder community with a Buff OneCard is welcome to attend Global Jam for free and guests may attend for $6 each. Attendance at the event, excluding food, is free and open to the public.
Other events throughout the week include live music, a streetball tournament, campus tours, rock climbing, blackjack and a picnic.
