Employees of Boulder's LUSH, which sells handmade cosmetics, will protest food packaging on Wednesday by wearing only aprons that read, "Ask my why I'm naked."
They hope the protest encourages shoppers to buy "naked" products, or those free of packaging.
The event is scheduled to be at noon Wednesday outside of the shop, 1312 Pearl St.
According to a news release by LUSH, packaging contributes to 2 percent of overall greenhouse gases and plastic uses 8 percent of the world’s oil resources. People in the United States consume 79.6 million tons of packaging each year, over half of which still ends up in landfills, the release said.
