An initial lineup has been confirmed for the Tatonka Music and Arts Festival, a long-in-the-works event running Sept. 27 and 28 at the Boulder Reservoir. Confirmed acts so far include Todd Park Mohr, leader of Big Head Todd and the Monsters, the Disco Biscuits, Rose Hill Drive, the Motet, Meniskus and Danny Shafer and the Unknown Americans.
Raymond Springsteel, of 40th Parallel Productions, which is producing the Tatanka Festival, tried to stage a similar festival at the reservoir in 2006 but that event was canceled because of a delay in obtaining the proper city permits to host camping at the reservoir. The promoter had hoped to make Tatanka a camping festival, but after hearing concerns from people who live near the reservoir, the Boulder’s Parks and Recreation Department decided not to allow camping.
Early bird tickets -- $45 per day, $80 for a weekend pass or $180 for a VIP weekend pass -- go on sale at 6 p.m. Sunday. Visit www.tatankamusicfestival.com for tickets and more information.
