OXEYE DAISY PULL AT CARIBOU RANCH- August 2. Please register by July 31. Help rid the mountain meadows at Caribou Ranch of Oxeye Daisy weed. Great opportunity for families and young volunteers to help restore native ecosystems.

ELDERLY COMPANION RESPITE CARE. Next training: July 31 in Boulder. Become matched one-on-one with an older adult who lives alone or with a family caregiver. Provide weekly two-hour visits and give the caregiver a break. No medical caretaking is required! Both male and female volunteers needed in communities throughout the county. Trainings occur approximately every 6-7 weeks at alternating locations.

TRAVELING VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL is coming to Boulder July 18-20, 2008. Volunteers needed to help prepare for its arrival and assist throughout weekend. Many opportunities and shifts available.

RHYTHM ON THE RIVER - July 11-12. Orientation: Tuesday, July 8. Over 300 volunteers needed to help at Longmont's annual event at Roger's Grove. Many opportunities and shifts available.

COLORADO CARES 2008 -Saturday, July 26. Participate in Colorado's 10th annual statewide day of service. Plan a service project or locate an on-going project near you.

HABITAT RESTORATION. Families and youth are invited to join habitat restoration projects designed to re-establish native eco-systems. Projects vary. Tasty meals are usually provided and no experience required.

SENIOR COMPANION. Make a 3-month commitment to visit a senior once a week for 2 hours. Must provide two references and pass a criminal background check. Activities can be creative.

FATHERHOOD PROGRAM MENTOR. Become a mentor and friend to a young man preparing for fatherhood. Weekly contact with client as your schedule permits.

MEALS FOR MOMS. Prepare and deliver a meal to a new mom just home from the hospital.

SNACK SOCIAL FACILITATOR. Work with 8 individuals living with dementia to decide on and prepare snackS, and engage them socially during snack time. Activity runs between 30-45 minutes.

MAINTENANCE HELP. Handyperson skills needed to paint, fix minor plumbing issues, fix windows and hinges, fences, etc.

TRAILFEST 2008: Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Continental Divide Trail on Saturday, July 19, at McPhelemy Park in Buena Vista, Colorado. There are 15 free "Get on the Divide" Adventures planned, with everything from biking to guided treks and even a visit to the fish hatchery. Base Camp at McPhelemy Park will include gear demos, food, music, and a silent auction. Proceeds benefit the Continental Divide Trail Alliance. COMMUNITY TABLE: A program for low-income and homeless people in Boulder that serves dinners from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at First Christian Church on 28th Street, across from the Coors Events Center; on Wednesdays dinners are held at Mountain View Methodist Church in Frasier Meadows.
