Former University of Colorado star Richard Roby is seen here during a game against Nebraska last season. Roby and former teammate Marcus Hall were signed to free agent contracts by the New Jersey Nets and the Kew York Knicks, respectively.

Before they left the campus of the University of Colorado, both Richard Roby and Marcus Hall said that the next job they hoped to interview for after college was the NBA.

It turns out that both young men will get that dream job interview this summer.

This week Roby signed with the New Jersey Nets and Hall signed with the New York Knicks.

Hall, a Houston, Texas native, will join the Knicks in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. Hall is one of 15 players on the Knicks summer roster and one of eight rookies. The Knicks will play six games on Madison Square Garden Network from July 14-20 at the COX Pavilion on the campus of UNLV.

The 6'2", 175-pound guard was the 26th CU player to score 1,000 career points and finished fourth all-time in assists (423). He also finished tied for third in career games played (120).

"I feel more than blessed with this opportunity," Hall said. "I know I have a lot to do in becoming a New York Knick and there's a lot of hard work in front of me."

Hall's first practice with the Knicks is this Friday and his first game is scheduled for next Monday. The Knicks are one of 21 NBA teams participating in Las Vegas.

Roby, a 6'6, 200-pound guard, will play for the New Jersey Nets' summer league team at the Rocky Mountain Revue in Salt Lake City beginning July 21. Roby is only signed through July 25 and can become a free agent after the tournament.

Roby, who broke a bone in his shooting hand at a pre-draft camp in Orlando was cleared by doctors to start working out the day after the NBA draft, according to Octagon Sports Marketing. According to Octagon, the original prognosis was that Roby was going to miss all three summer leagues (Orlando, Las Vegas, Rocky Mountain).

The Nets are one of six NBA teams participating in the Rocky Mountain Revue. All games will be played at the Lifetime Activities Center located at the Redwood Campus of Salt Lake Community College from July 18-25. No games will be played on July 20 or 23.

Roby finished his four-year collegiate career as CU's all-time men's leading scorer with 2,001 points.. The San Bernardino, Calif. native was also the third player in school history to lead the team in scoring all four years.
