Scott, however, wasn't the only Buff to garner preseason recognition as senior defensive tackle George Hypolite was named to the preseason All-Big 12 first team defense.
As a senior running back at St. Bonaventure High School (Ventura, Calif.), Scott earned All-America honors from Parade, SuperPrep and USA Today. The 6-2, 215-pound back rushed for 2,433 yards and 33 touchdowns last season while leading St. Bonaventure to a state championship.
CU senior George Hypolite was the only Colorado player named to the 27-man preseason All-Big 12 team. The 6-1, 285-pound defensive tackle was selected first-team All-Big 12 after last season by the Associated Press and the conference coaches.
Missouri quarterback Chase Daniel was selected as the preseason offensive player, and Oklahoma defensive end Austin English was selected as the defensive player of the year.
Two Colorado prep products -- Phil Loadholt (Fountain-Fort Carson High School) and Jon Cooper (Fort Collins High) -- were named to the team. Both are Oklahoma offensive linemen.
Missouri had eight selections, the most of any team in the conference.
