For many at CU, this period offers a brief chance to pause and reflect on the achievements the university has accomplished over the course of the last academic year. Yesterday, in a statement released to university faculty via e-mail, CU-Boulder Chancellor G.P. "Bud" Peterson wrote a comprehensive retrospective of the year's successes titled "A Look at 2007-08: Investing in Our Future."
Using the strategic plan "Flagship 2030" as a measuring stick for this year's achievements and next year's goals, Peterson's address categorizes the school's efforts and accomplishments into 11 main components including People, Programs, Platforms, Commitment to Diversity, Campus Safety, and more.
Throughout the address, Peterson also attributes much of the year's "unparalleled success" to the implementation of "Flagship 2030," a strategic, all-encompassing plan outlining university operations and designed to position CU's flagship Boulder campus as a role model for higher education in the 21st century.
"Flagship 2030 has provided a vehicle for us to stop looking at the past and instead to focus on the future to see all of our potential," Peterson stated in the address.
