Way to go Boulder!

"Top Chef: New York" gave a new twist to last week's Thanksgiving show.

The food competition divided the chefs into two teams, and they were given the task of cooking a backstage Thanksgiving feast for the rocking Foo Fighters.

Boulder contestants Hosea Rosenberg and Melissa Harrison ended up on the same "Sexy Pants" team. The local chefs didn't come up with the single winning food item, but their team did take the competition.

Rosenberg and Harrison scored big time. The chefs and their teammates got prime seats at the Foo Fighters Rochester, New York show.

Will the local chefs want to TiVo the scenes of themselves dancing wildly at the Foos' concert? Probably not.

But congrats to them, anyway.

Thankfully over

Several real-life Thanksgiving turkeys were pardoned this year. Too bad the same can't be said for several reality shows that thankfully ended their seasons last week.

This season's "Dancing with the Stars" was filled with accident-prone contestants and boring dance moves. We were all put out of our misery when the show's season ended -- and no one cared who won.

"Coolio" and "The Pick-Up Artist" also ended their season runs. For the last two months, we were subject to Coolio's really bad parenting skills and the "Pick-Up Artist's" really bad dating skills.

Thankfully, we won't have to see these characters for awhile.

Oh no they didn't

The goal of "Survivor" is to outwit and outplay your fellow contestants.

The only people that got outwitted on Thanksgiving night were the people who took time from their holiday dinners to tune in to "Survivor."

Yep, "Survivor" producers turned the tables on their viewers. Instead of airing a real episode of the program, they chose to show a "wrap-up" of all the losers who already were voted off.

I vote the producers off the island for pulling off this tease.

New shows

It may be December, but thankfully some new reality shows are hitting TV.

Snoop Dogg's "Father Hood" returned last week to the E! network.

And TV host Ryan Seacrest debuts his NBC series "Momma's Boys" on Dec. 16. Why do I have the feeling Ryan knows a lot about this topic?
