'Listography': Your love life in lists

Monday, October 6, 2008

There's nothing more romantic than a list.

So Type-As, the super-organized or the super-in-love may enjoy "Love Listography" by Lisa Nola and Nathaniel Russell (Chronicle Books, $16.95), a journal designed to keep track of all things romance.

You can save for posterity the "strangest places you've had sex," "the stupidest things you've done in the name of love" or your "one night stands."

While some may not like having a book with a list of "favorite sex toys" lying around, "Love Listography" does seem like a cute way to reflect on current and past relationships. Each page provides space to write in your answers, as well as an illustration of a possible answer.

The possible answers the book provides are often funny: the list "how you learned about sex" includes the possible answer "school bus, third grade" and a crude drawing of a finger going into a circle of two other fingers (third-grade sign language for sex).

This journal also appears to be gay-friendly and gender-neutral. Some of the illustrations show men embracing, and the possible answers go back and forth between showing women and men.

Creator Lisa Nola says in a preface to the journal: "I created the Listography project because as we age, little details fade away. All of these experiences... made up who we are today. By taking a moment to reflect, you may uncover a few memories."

Just don't let the kids find it.

Seems that the population self-identified as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) becomes more and more. According to my experience on the site *BisexualMingle dotcom* (a site for LGBT coming out, explore sexuality, etc.), there are about 150 members per day and they are very active. You can imagine. And if you often are online, you may find what you are looking more easily.
