Reality Bytes: Reality TV gets really bitchy

Sharon Osbourne, Denise Richards back this fall

Saturday, September 20, 2008

This season's reality stars are going to add a little bite to the TV genre.

Let the games begin.

Sharon Osbourne

Let's face it, Poison frontman Bret Michaels has really bad taste in women.

If you've viewed Michaels' reality show "Rock of Love," then you know he has a knack for picking losers -- with a capital L. All his women lack taste, culture -- and clothes.

Now Sharon Osbourne is coming to the rescue.

Osbourne hasn't been able to refine rocker hubby Ozzy Osbourne, or her kids Kelly and Jack. However, she's going to train Michaels' former skanks -- er, girlfriends -- in the arts of charm and proper etiquette.

The new show is called "Rock of Love Charm School with Sharon Osbourne." The program debuts Oct. 12 on VH1 and features 14 former "Rock of Love" contestants.

As they say in the news, "It will be like putting lipstick on a pig."

Denise Richards

The bitch is back.

Denise Richards -- aka Charlie Sheen's ex-wife -- just announced that her E! Network show "It's Complicated" will return for Season 2.

The first season featured Richards having hissy fits about every aspect of her life. Yeah, it's "not complicated" to see why Sheen and Richie Sambora dumped her.

'Survivor'

They're back.

Thursday, "Survivor" returns to its 7 p.m. slot on CBS. This week's episode will feature a special two-hour edition of "Survivor: Gabon."

If you can't wait until Thursday, you can see a special hi-definition preview of the first episode at www.cnettv.com. Viewers will be amazed to see the detail and color that HD technology provides for the show.

Scenes of angry rhinos, trumpeting elephants, mighty gorillas and slithering snakes open the "Survivor" season -- and they haven't even started with the stunts the cast will pull.

This crew looks pretty passive, but a few weeks in the wild should bring out their claws and fangs.

Some people will do anything to score a million bucks.
